Biography

dr ed millsDr. Mills is Canada Research Chair in Global Health. Dr. Mills' interests are in the application of evidence-based decision-making to international health interventions and the comparison of competing interventions for specific conditions. He is involved in the measurement of health in Africa and Asia and oversees a statistical methods group examining the improvement of measurement in international health and comparative effectiveness. He currently works in Uganda, Rwanda and Canada. He has developed cohorts, conducted randomized trials (RCTs) and conducted workshops on research methods throughout Africa. Among several ongoing RCTs, he is currently leading a large multi-centre trial of microeconomic opportunities for HIV/AIDS patients in Uganda. In addition to HIV/AIDS, he is a Board of Trustee member at the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDR,B) and a Board member of the Center for Public Health and Human Rights at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
